What are credits?
Credits are used to verify citations. Each citation you verify costs 1 credit. For example, if you paste 10 citations, it will use 10 credits.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, the free plan includes 30 verification credits every day — plenty to try out CiteTrue for light use.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription anytime from your account settings. There are no cancellation fees and no long-term commitments.
Can I change my plan at any time?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your subscription at any time. Changes are prorated and reflected in your next billing cycle.
Can I get a refund?
As a general rule, purchases of digital and virtual products — both subscriptions and credit packs — are non-refundable. If you have a refund request or billing issue, please contact us and we will generally respond within 3 business days.
What happens if I exceed my plan limits?
If you exceed your limits, you'll be notified and can either upgrade your plan or wait for your quota to reset — the free plan resets every day, while paid plans reset every month.
Which credit pack should I get?
It depends on your usage. A typical research paper has 20-50 citations. The 500 credit pack is great for occasional use, while the 2,000 pack is ideal for heavy users or teams.
Do credit packs expire?
Credits from a pack are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Any unused credits in the pack expire after that period.
Can I use credit packs with a subscription?
Yes. Credit pack credits work alongside your subscription quota — your subscription credits are used first, then credit pack credits are consumed in order of expiration date.
What is Deep Verification?
Deep Verification is a heavier second pass that uses the strongest AI models and a wider set of databases to re-check a citation when the fast check is uncertain. It costs 5 credits and greatly improves recall for tricky references.

Yes. Your files and citations are processed securely and never shared with third parties. We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit and at rest.
